If God had commanded Naaman to do some great thing, he would more readily have obeyed, so that he might have some honor in his cure. It is the very same with all such as despise or diminish the value of holy baptism. It is too simple ; the grace of God can be had on too easy terms ; they can share no honor by their own works, in obtaining salvation. All this is too trifling for their high minds.
